Options for Tractors
The distributor conversions have been discontinued. If you have a special request please ask. With the success of the PRO distributor we feel it is a better option than using worn out parts that might affect the operation of the C5 ignition.
C5 Rotary Switch
Our ignition has four timing maps stored into memory. Each map is independent of the others. Things like rev limits, timing advance, sensor type, and fall back rpm can all be different from map to map, and fully adjusted using our software.
The ignition uses two sensor outputs to determine which map it will follow. By grounding/ungrounding the two output wires you can change maps even while driving.
The easiest way to change between maps is to install a four position rotary switch. We start with a USA Military grade switch sourced from Illinois and solder the appropriate wires. It connects using two wires to the ignition, and has a single "ground" wire.

Get rid of that loose, cheap, home built safety switch. Why?
Vibration during pulls can cycle the power on/off many times per second which can cause electronic failures and coil misfire. An unreliable switch is dangerous!
Our new C5 PRO Safety Switch includes:
-Automotive grade sealed ball switch rated at 5 amp max.
-Solid billet Aluminum construction
-Aluminum clamp allows mounting in any position
-Spring ball pin with split ring
-Comes with 6 feet of wiring and connector
Switch has a 36 month warranty. Picture may differ slightly from actual product.

- C5 users please order first option which completes the circuit when pin is in place and cuts power to the ignition when the pin is pulled (called a Normally Open switch).
- If you wish to use this to ground the circuit when the pin is pulled out, such as when grounding a coil, then order the second option (called a Normally Closed switch).

We have two ignitions now called CDL2 and CDL4 and five coils to choose from.

Now for common sense ... Most pulling tractors are highly modified, with a mix of parts from other models, private individuals, and aftermarket parts.
Because we have no control over your engine build, carb, manifold, cam, pistons, fuel, fuel pump, etc... or your ability to install, time, and tune your ignition, we ARE NOT responsible for your success.
Engines with long and short intake runners or carb/intakes that are mismatched to the engine have a higher risk of popping under load. Fuel that does not ignite during the power stroke can collect in the exhaust and ignite at the start of the exhaust stroke. Because of the extreme runner length, modified six cylinder engines with a single carb are most likely to have this happen. Installing our intake with equal length runners usually solves this problem.

We will provide a free set of maps based on your description of the engine build and it is your responsibility to determine which map(s) work best. If you wish to design and install different maps you will need to purchase a programming kit.
